Liptons Grocers Mural

Open spaces is a non-profit community project based in Stockport. Their aim being to brighten up and regenerate Stockport High Street, by opening studio spaces, holding workshops & events, and creative projects such as this.

The theme for the murals set by the the council was ‘remembrance'. After researching on Stockport's photo Archive I discovered the building used to be a Lipton’s Grocers in the 1930's. The mural is based on the traditional grocers, celebrating Stockport history. This project was shortlisted for the AOI's World Illustration Awards 'site specific' category, in partnership with the Directory of Illustration 2019, & exhibited at Somerset House, London.
